Marsh & McLennan Agency LLC (MMA) was established in 2008 as a separate operating subsidiary of Marsh LLC to serve the property & casualty and employees benefits needs of mid-size organizations. Marsh is a subsidiary of Marsh & McLennan Companies (MMC) and is the largest global insurance broker and risk management advisor in the world.

Our Michigan operations grew out of the acquisition and combination of three of the region’s leading consulting practices: McGraw Wentworth, Great Lakes Employee Benefit Services and Cambridge Property & Casualty. And we continue to grow every day, adding to our roster of specialists and our portfolio of services.

Marsh & McLennan Agency of Michigan now has over 115 Health & Benefits employees, and we now have expanded resources and a network of expertise to call upon as needed. This includes Property & Casualty services, available both locally via our office in Livonia and nationally.

Our client base consist of over 250 employers including privately-and publicly-held firms, municipalities, school districts, non-profits, manufacturers, services, retailers and wholesale firms.

This diverse client base ensures our firm’s stability and growth, while also allowing us to share best practices from each industry.

Recognized as one of Business Insurance’s “Women to Watch” and Crain’s Detroit Business’ “100 Most Influential Women”, Becky has over thirty years of experience in the employee benefits and insurance industry. She is known for mentoring employees and counseling peers on complex issues.

Prior to joining and ultimately leading Marsh & McLennan Agency’s Michigan operations, Becky held sales leadership and management roles with The Prudential Insurance Company of America and United HealthCare. During her tenure with MMA, Becky quickly advanced from Account Director to key leadership and management positions within the firm, all while providing thoughtful and strategic guidance for employers navigating a rapidly changing marketplace.

Denise is a leading executive in the industry with more than 30 years of experience in managed health care. She has deep roots in both west and southeast Michigan and has a reputation for collaboration and building high performing teams through strong communications and relationship skills development.

Denise began her career in Grand Rapids successfully building a start-up HMO into the $200 million enterprise now known as Priority Health. She moved on to hold executive and sales leadership roles with: SelectCare Inc., a multi-hospital system-owned health plan in Detroit; United Healthcare Inc. in Minneapolis; and with Humana in Michigan. In 2013, Denise launched iSelect Custom Benefit Store, Michigan’s first multi-carrier private insurance exchange for the employer group market.

Joining Marsh & McLennan Agency in 2017, Denise brings her visionary and creative thinking to help the Michigan Employee Health & Benefits team continue to grow. An active leader in the community, Denise is professionally committed to bringing higher levels of engagement by consumers with their health care experience fueled by a personal passion to elevate the quality of life for residents in the region.

Senior Vice President/Managing Director

Chris has nearly twenty years of employee benefits experience gained from working with Michigan’s leading carrier and the region’s leading mid-sized consultant/broker.

Working first in BCBSM’s National IT team and then as a New Business Sales Consultant in Key & Large Group Sales Division, Chris worked primarily with Fortune 500 organizations, assessing their system benefit needs, healthcare needs and developing viable financial/operational strategies and solutions.

As a Sr. Vice President with MMA, Chris draws upon his industry expertise and works closely with his team to provide mid-market organizations an optimal combination of processes and products to run their employee benefit programs effectively and cost efficiently. Named Managing Director in 2017, Chris oversees and coordinates assignments amongst the firm’s Vice Presidents, Plan Analyst and Client Services teams. He continues to deepen our relationship with BCBSM and other carriers and has led various key initiatives, including our landmark Southeast Michigan Mid-Market Group Benefits Survey, overseeing the data gathering, analysis, and reporting out to participants.

Julie Truskowski

Senior Vice President/Managing Director

Julie’s specialties include the strategy and design of health care plans, large case implementation and coordination, carrier negotiations and complex project management.

Before entering the consulting field, Julie worked for a national insurance company, managing sales and servicing efforts for large national accounts. Julie then managed key large client relationships for Towers Perrin and then Watson Wyatt, providing expertise on health care strategy, design, and implementation of health care plans.

With MMA, Julie provides strategic group benefits planning guidance for a diverse portfolio of industries including Michigan-based manufacturers, educational institutions and service firms. As Managing Director, Julie oversees and coordinates assignments amongst the firm’s Vice Presidents, Plan Analyst and Client Services teams. She fosters strong relationships with BCBSM and other carriers and leads various Health Care Reform initiatives.

Julie is honored to serve on the Board of Directors for FAR Conservatory of Therapeutic and Performing Arts, a local nonprofit organization that provides creative arts therapy and recreation services for children and adults with mental, physical and/or emotional impairments. FAR also promotes public understanding of the abilities and potential of persons who are mentally, emotionally or physically challenged.
